The Lotus Eletre
Hyper Drive
Lotus tasked the team with creating an exciting and immersive global media event for the brand’s first all-electric Hyper SUV in Norway, known as the electric car capital of the world. As a senior designer, I was involved in the entire project life cycle, from conceptualisation to the live event launch.
The initial phase involved brainstorming and conceptualising the event, including planning the itinerary, creating activities, identifying necessary print materials, devising messaging strategies, and ensuring media engagement throughout the event. I visualised the strongest ideas to demonstrate their implementation within the event environment, producing a compelling pitch deck that consolidated the team's efforts to help the client grasp all the project details.
Once the event program was finalised, I collaborated with builders, freelancers and the creative director to transform the proposal into a practical yet innovative reality within the event spaces. After confirming the event spaces met our standards, I proceeded to design both large and small-scale print assets while overseeing freelance design support. This involved briefing, file management, and providing constructive feedback to maintain consistency with brand guidelines.
I handled the artworking of designs and liaised with the printer to ensure accurate file preparation. I took the lead in confirming that all files sent to the printer had been thoroughly proofread, client-approved, and correctly art worked. To manage this process effectively, I utilised Google Slides and an Excel sheet to stay organised and in control.
My final responsibility in this remarkable project was overseeing the design and content of the 'digital guide' – a mobile interactive guide sent via a link to all journalists 24 hours before the event. I began with a wireframe of the required content, briefed the copywriter and strategist, and proceeded to design all the content within the guide, including route maps, vehicle specifications, hotel information, safety rules, and other vital messages. Lastly, I ensured the document’s adaptation for various global markets, including French, Korean, Japanese, and more.
Overall, this six-month project was my first assignment as a senior designer. It boosted my confidence in leading a team, allowed me to push the boundaries
of my creativity, and enhanced my organisational skills.
